How I Turned a Monster Energy Drink Can Into a Viral Fundraising Moment

Meet Zosh.

Zosh, like most trans folk, is a caffiene drinking beast. He chugged back at least half a dozen cups of tea as I worked my magic.

See: I had a plan- turn a simple piece of trash into a viral fundraising moment.

That, that I did.

By using a simple label printer, plus an empty can of Monster Energy Ultra, I created an opportunity to raise a massive amount of awareness of my friend’s upcoming surgery.

Total cost? £5.

Money raised? £65.

Brand awareness and positioning as “That guy who’ll fund your top surgery”? Priceless.

Most people look at bookbinding as if it’s just a way to store a story. Not me. I take every opportunity to tell, sell, and share stories.

Sometimes it’s just as simple as sticking your face and a QR code on a Monster can. Me? I also put it on Zosh’s hat.

For just one hour of our time, we’ve entered the photo albums of over 5 dozen socially engaged youths, leveraged our personal difficulties to our advantage, and walked away with a massive lead on getting this surgery funded.

Speaking of, Monster: We’re doing a zine. Do you want in? You have until the funding deadline of January 31st. Be really cool and help us out!💖🏄‍♀️

See you later gang! Me and my Mum are off to watch the new Wicked movie. Bosh on it!

Have a happy new year,
